The Tabernacle Completed

38 (A)Then he made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood, five [a]cubits [b]long, and five cubits [c]wide, square, and three cubits [d]high. He made its horns on its four corners, its horns [e]being of one piece with it, and he overlaid it with [f]bronze. He made all the utensils of the altar, the pails and the shovels and the basins, the flesh hooks and the firepans; he made all its utensils of bronze. He made for the altar a grating of bronze network beneath, under its ledge, reaching halfway up. He cast four rings on the four ends of the bronze grating as holders for the poles. He made the poles of acacia wood and overlaid them with bronze. He inserted the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, with which to carry it. He made it hollow with planks.

(B)Moreover, he made the laver of bronze with its base of bronze, [g]from the mirrors of the serving women who served at the doorway of the tent of meeting.

(C)Then he made the court: [h]for the south side the hangings of the court were of fine twisted linen, one hundred cubits; 10 their twenty pillars, and their twenty [i]sockets, made of bronze; the hooks of the pillars and their [j]bands were of silver. 11 For the north side there were one hundred cubits; their twenty pillars and their twenty [k]sockets were of bronze, the hooks of the pillars and their [l]bands were of silver. 12 For the west side there were hangings of fifty cubits with their ten pillars and their ten [m]sockets; the hooks of the pillars and their [n]bands were of silver. 13 For the [o]east side fifty cubits. 14 The hangings for the one [p]side of the gate were fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and their three [q]sockets, 15 and so for the [r]other [s]side. [t]On both sides of the gate of the court were hangings of fifteen cubits, with their three pillars and their three [u]sockets. 16 All the hangings of the court all around were of fine twisted linen. 17 The [v]sockets for the pillars were of [w]bronze, the hooks of the pillars and their [x]bands, of silver; and the overlaying of their tops, of silver, and all the pillars of the court were furnished with silver [y]bands. 18 The screen of the gate of the court was the work of the [z]weaver, of [aa]blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen. And the length was twenty cubits and the [ab]height was five cubits, corresponding to the hangings of the court. 19 Their four pillars and their four [ac]sockets were of bronze; their hooks were of silver, and the overlaying of their tops and their [ad]bands were of silver. 20 All the pegs of the [ae]tabernacle and of the court all around were of bronze.

The Cost of the Tabernacle

21 [af]This is the number of the things for the [ag]tabernacle, the [ah]tabernacle of the testimony, as they were [ai]numbered according to the [aj]command of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. 22 Now (D)Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the Lord had commanded Moses. 23 With him was (E)Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver and a skillful workman and a [ak]weaver in [al]blue and in purple and in scarlet material, and fine linen.

24 All the gold that was used for the work, in all the work of the sanctuary, even the gold of the wave offering, was 29 talents and 730 shekels, according to (F)the shekel of the sanctuary. 25 (G)The silver of those of the congregation who were [am]numbered was 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; 26 (H)a beka a head (that is, half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary), for each one who passed over to those who were [an]numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for (I)603,550 men. 27 The hundred talents of silver were for casting the [ao]sockets of the sanctuary and the [ap]sockets of the veil; one hundred [aq]sockets for the hundred talents, a talent for a [ar]socket. 28 Of the 1,775 shekels, he made hooks for the pillars and overlaid their tops and made [as]bands for them. 29 The bronze of the wave offering was 70 talents and 2,400 shekels. 30 With it he made the [at]sockets to the doorway of the tent of meeting, and the bronze altar and its bronze grating, and all the utensils of the altar, 31 and the [au]sockets of the court all around and the [av]sockets of the gate of the court, and all the pegs of the [aw]tabernacle and all the pegs of the court all around.

The God of Sinai and of the Sanctuary.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David. A Song.

68 [a]Let (A)God arise, [b]let His enemies be scattered,
And [c]let those who hate Him flee before Him.
As (B)smoke is driven away, so drive them away;
As (C)wax melts before the fire,
So let the (D)wicked perish before God.
But let the (E)righteous be glad; let them exult before God;
Yes, let them rejoice with gladness.
Sing to God, (F)sing praises to His name;
[d](G)Lift up a song for Him who (H)rides through the deserts,
Whose (I)name is [e]the Lord, and exult before Him.

A (J)father of the fatherless and a (K)judge [f]for the widows,
Is God in His (L)holy habitation.
God [g](M)makes a home for the lonely;
He (N)leads out the prisoners into prosperity,
Only (O)the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

O God, when You (P)went forth before Your people,
When You (Q)marched through the wilderness, [h]Selah.
The (R)earth quaked;
The (S)heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God;
[i](T)Sinai itself quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
You (U)shed abroad a plentiful rain, O God;
You confirmed Your inheritance when it was [j]parched.
10 Your creatures settled in it;
You (V)provided in Your goodness for the poor, O God.

Death, Resurrection Foretold

17 (A)As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them, 18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man (B)will be [a]delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, 19 and (C)will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on (D)the third day He will be raised up.”

Preferment Asked

20 (E)Then the mother of (F)the sons of Zebedee came to [b]Jesus with her sons, (G)bowing down and making a request of Him. 21 And He said to her, “What do you wish?” She *said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine (H)may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.” 22 But Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able (I)to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.” 23 He *said to them, (J)My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on My left, this is not Mine to give, (K)but it is for those for whom it has been (L)prepared by My Father.”

24 And hearing this, the ten became indignant with the two brothers. 25 (M)But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. 26 It is not this way among you, (N)but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as (O)the Son of Man (P)did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His [c]life a ransom for many.”

Sight for the Blind

29 (Q)As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. 30 And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, (R)have mercy on us, (S)Son of David!” 31 The crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, (T)Son of David, have mercy on us!” 32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” 33 They *said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.” 34 Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.
